Restoration Projects - Basilica of the Assumption

Designed by Benjamin Latrobe, who was also designing the US Capitol at the time, this Baltimore church was completed in 1821, after 15 years of construction. It is one of the finest examples of neoclassic architecture. It is also the oldest Catholic church in the country and the first cathedral built in the United States. Of course, it is a national shrine and historic landmark. In 2006, Allegheny Restoration provided the historic skylights and the Nave windows as well as restoring various windows throughout the complex. The architect was John G. Waite & Associates.
